imperfections

“When the Japanese mend broken objects, they aggrandize the damage by filling the cracks with gold. They believe that when something’s suffered damage and has a history it becomes more beautiful.”
Barbara Bloom

What a beautiful idea. I think that’s maybe why I love taking Polaroids so much. Sometimes the film gets stuck, or you get funny light spots, or the image doesn’t develop all the way… and that is what I love most. There are lots of happy little accidents. Thank you Polaroid for teaching me to love the imperfections.

Do you love imperfections too?
