a peace offering

I didn’t mean to take this long of a break from blogging. Whoops. As a peace offering here are some pretty french flowers from Jen

So lately I’ve been:

Getting ready for France

Getting ready to move

Trying to stick to this darn sugar-free diet (it’s brutal by the way)

Trying not to shop (equally brutal)

And then there is the usual: work, friendly, family, and of course Harlow.

It doesn’t sound like a long list but I’ve just been a busy bee. Things are looking good though and I’m ready for another week!

a beautiful life

A beautiful life does not just happen, it is built daily by prayer, humilty, sacrifice and love. May that beautiful life be yours always.

I think I have blogger’s block. Hopefully I’ll get it together this week. In the meantime I hope you are having a beautiful week!

not just another cupcake

Just because I can’t eat one it doesn’t mean I can’t look at them right? You’ve probably seen these goodies from Ming Makes Cupcakes but they just look too good!

Flavors (clockwise): Flourless beet chocolate cupcake w/ whipped cream, Sour cream chocolate cupcake w/ Nutella frosting, Sour cream fig cupcake w/ cream cheese frosting, Sour cream apricot cupcake w/ mascarpone frosting and toasted almonds.

YUM!

my brave little soldier

I took Harlow to get spayed yesterday. It was a very emotional day – for both of us. I was up most of the night before wondering if anyone had ever invented doggy birth control and wondering (if there was such a thing) if I’d remember to give it to her every day.

She was so cheerful and sweet on our way to the vet’s. But when I picked her up… oh the sadness. I’m not going to lie. I got a little teary eyed when I saw her. She was a wilted little thing of a pup with a scar and goop in her eyes. The vet said not to be surprised if she started snapping at me and was a little stand-offish. So not the case with my little pup – she was super dopey and cuddly and whimpered for a little while when we got home but spent the rest of the day sleeping on my lap.

I know I sound so silly but honestly … ugh! I’m not good at being around sick people or sick puppies. The vet said Shih Tzu’s are particularly sensitive to anesthetic and to keep an eye on her. And now I have to worry things like scars and infections and the cone head and blah, blah, blah…

If you need me I’ll be home fretting over Harlow.

happy birthday to me

Happy Birthday to ME!

My day started with my best friend’s little girl calling my cell phone and singing “Happy Birthday” to me so sweetly. I wish I could have recorded it because I’d listen to it every day. She reminded me it was her dog, Fish’s, birthday too. Happy Birthday Fishy!

And then after talking to Chelsea I realized that I am actually a year YOUNGER than I thought! Who does that? Who forgets how old they are?? Me apparently. Thank goodness for friends who can add. It’s extra good because I like even numbers better anyway.

The day is just getting better and better… which means it’s been a very good day!

Happy my birthday to all of you too. Have a wonderful weekend!

Photobucket

I bought three awesome cameras on Etsy. The first one is a Voigtlander Vito Model CD- 35mm Camera. The second one is a Brownie Starlet Camera (cute name right?) and the last one is a Polaroid 360.

How many cameras does a girl need? Many. I love them!

I’m saving my pennies for a converted Polaroid 110b .. you know, if you see one lying around.
