Mary Poppins, Farmer’s Market and Pinkberry

We saw Mary Poppins in LA and it was great. I have to admit it wasn’t my first choice of shows to see but the majority ruled but I take back everything. It was a really fun show!

We also wandered around the Grove and Farmer’s Market and of course got some Pinkberry. I highly recommend getting it with pomegranate seeds.

Now back to normal things like work, laundry and all that jazz.

(note:: I still haven’t gotten 100% used to my SX-70 camera and sometimes she tricks me but mostly I love her)

Changing the World

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
Anne Frank

I’m working on a post about an amazing non-profit organization called The Rohde Foundation which is bringing health care to rural Africa. I’m so proud of Jesse and the work he’s doing. It truly is changing the world.

weekend!

I am so ready for a weekend. My family and I are going to see Mary Poppins in Los Angeles. I’m pretty excited. Do you think I can sneak Harlow in?

Lots of good stuff this week:

I love Chelsea Fuss’s polaroid so much.

Suann found some awesome cookie cutters. I want to make the cookie tree!

A vintage polaroid commercial

Everyone should have these petit Paris calenders, don’t you think?

My new music obsession-Devotchka

A beautiful, silly, rockstar thanksgiving

Can you have a crush on food? I think you can if it’s truffled mac & cheese

… or baked egg in cream.

And finally I’m going to spend my honeymoon in a treehouse. I hope my husband doesn’t mind.

Have a beautiful weekend!

is it worth it? let me work it

“Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I lie down until it goes away.”
Jack Handey

I’m changing my ways. Instead of waiting until after all of the holidays to dig out my sneakers and dust off the treadmill I’m getting a head start. But first things first. I need a playlist that will get me through it.

Here are some of my faves:

Superstar

That’s Not My Name

(More Bounce) In California

Just Dance

Kung Fu Fighting
(makes me laugh while the sweat stings my eyes)

Womanizer

Pump It
(perfect treadmill song I think)

We Used to Be Friends

So What

Evacuate the Dancefloor

Poker Face

Sugar, We’re Going Down

Whew, that’s a lot. As always if you like any of these please support the artist by purchasing the song or album.

Now, how do I get my puppy to stop peeing on the treadmill? Maybe that’s just her opinion of treadmills… I tend to agree.

addicted to twitter

Let’s not even talk about how much more productive I used to be at work before twitter. So what do I tweet about? I made my own little Tweet Cloud and you can see what words I tweet most often. My top three words are: love, polaroid and happy. Do you tweet?

You can follow me here.

remember Paris?

Remember how I was totally obsessed with the idea of moving to Paris? I still am, I just try not to talk about it every second of the day so as not to appear totally nuts. But I cannot lie. My heart is out there roaming the streets of Paris while I sit at my desk in California.

Today I visited Haven in Paris and this little one bedroom flat made my heart pitter patter. So I decided to take my own little imaginary trip of Paris.

First how lovely to have a Truffled lunch.

And maybe have Sunday dinner with Jim. I’ve read about his dinners before and I love the idea.

Since apparently all I will want to do in Paris is eat I will stop at Du Pain et Des Idées and load up on baguettes and apple pastries and chocolate snails. (why not? it’s Paris!)

I’ve wanted to checked out St Ouen Flea Market ever since I read about it on a blog two years ago.

I also found this great guide to Paris flea markets. Amazing!

I always come back to Alicia’s beautiful photography when I need a Paris fix.

But I think Jen’s Paris polaroids are my favorites.

Ahhh there are so many things I want to do in Paris but I’ll save it for another post. I don’t want to appear too nuts. How did I do?

Maybe you should tell me what you love about Paris if you’ve been or why you want to go if you haven’t. I’d love to hear!

I guess for now I’ll settle for seeing Coco Before Chanel tonight.

Have a lovely weekend

This week has been wonderful and hetic. That’s really the best kind of week if you ask me. I had lots of family in town. My cousin Jennifer came to visit. She’s 1 month and 3 days older than me and we grew up together. It’s always so fun to see her. And aunts and uncles and grandmothers and great grandmothers and puppies everywhere. I also got a chance to catch up with some friends from elementary school and high school. It was SO good to catch up a bit and eat good food and laugh. We laughed a lot.

And of course I took not one single picture. *sigh*

But I promise it was good and everyone looked beautiful.

Here’s some good stuff from around the web:

My good friend Alyssa (aka Andie Mills) has 1,000 YouTube subscribers. Check her out!

I was lucky enough to snag not one, but TWO gorgeous Taza headbands which sold out in literally minutes. I can’t wait to get them.

Cutest stocking stuffer

Film users heaven – film is not dead!

Cutest handmade Polaroid – I’d be so proud.

A great under $50 gift guide over at Daydream Lily.

This video almost makes me want a kitty!

A collection of Audrey Hepburn’s dresses are being auctioned off at Sotheby’s on Dec 8th. Can you imagine?

I really, really want an excuse to order these mini Moo buisness cards

This weekend I’ll be cracking down on the Christmas shopping and watching Coco Before Chanel and catching up on my reading. What are you doing this weekend? Well whatever you’re dong I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
