There are many but perhaps most of all the ability to leave each person or place a little better than I found it.

To never feel anything deeply

One that is my own… wherever it may be

A certain shade of green

The tulip – for it’s simple elegance

Though not one for birds I’m partial to small, scrappy finches asking for my crumbs

Pushkin, Hugo, Emerson, Thoreau, Proust and Anatole France

Shakespeare, Keats, Wilde, Edna St Vincent Millay

What are your favorite names?

I have several at the moment. Girls: Kate, Chloe, Sophie, Madeline and Emma. Boys: Matthew, Paul, Lachlan, Joshua, and Trey.

What is it you most dislike?

My own worst qualities

What event in military history do you most admire?

Hannibal Barca crossing the Alps with elephants and defeating the Romans with an extremely tired army.

What reform do you most admire?

Any that is truthful

How would you like to die?

Fulfilled

Hopeful
